- This summer Andrew Ballin will work in the Weld Lab
(Physics) as a participant in the program EUREKA (Early
Undergraduate Research and Knowledge Acquisition) here at
UCSB.
- Brandon Kerr has got a job as Scientific Software
Developer for a biotech company in Los Angeles.
- Kyle Curlett's paper "Symmetric Fiedler Pencils with
Repetition as Linearizations for Symmetric Matrix
Polynomials" has been submitted for publication.
- Gil Tabak's paper "Systematic Stochastic Reduction of
Inertial Fluid-Structure Interactions subject to Thermal
Fluctuations" has been accepted for publication.
- Nathan Guillery's paper "The solution of the equation
AX+X^*B=0" has been accepted for publication in Linear
Algebra and Its Applications.
- Justin Shrake's paper "A First-Passage Kinetic Monte
Carlo Method for Reaction-Drift-Diffusion Processes" has
been published in February 2013.
- Nathan Schley has been admitted to the UCSB, Purdue, and
University of Virginia PhD program. Eric Demer has been
admitted to the UCSB PhD program. They both will be staying
at UCSB.
- Gil Tabak has been admitted to MIT, Princeton, Brown,
Standford, and UCLA PhD math programs.
- Nathan Guillery has been admitted to the Boulder, Colorado
PhD program.
- Joe Mazeika will be attending the UC Santa Cruz PhD
program next year.
- Kevin Gibbons was in Hungary in the Fall quarter
participating in the Budapest Semester in Mathematics
program.
- Twenty-one new students will be joining the CCS math
program this year.
- Jennifer Liu got a job as Analytical Services Associate at
Urban Science.
